Chapter 27

2 days passed by quickly. Thabal decided to return earlier than she decided to. She made up an excuse of a sudden assignment she had to complete. Nungshi unwilling had to send her back. Now currently they were standing at the doorstep. Thabal had her bags clutched, as she glanced at her house for the last time till she arrived again.

Nungshi grabbed her suitcase and dragged it behind her. Keeping it  inside the car's trunk.

"Lako Thoi. Thengani nattradi flight ki muk" She gestured Thabal to come over. Thabal hummed slowly. Her gripped on her bag tightened. They didn't even come out to see her. They didn't bother to do so. Jaan chali jati agar nikalte toh. She thought bitterly.

(Come Thoi. Or else you would be late for the flight)

With a sigh, she looked away from the hell of a house and walked towards the car, along with her luggage. Opening the door, she threw the bags inside and settled herself on the seat.

Nungshi opened the passenger door and took her seat, beside the driver. The driver started the car. Taking them towards the Imphal airport.

Thabal leaned against the seat and took out her phone and ear pods. She sent a quick text to Vikram about her departure. As she did, she plugged in her ear pods and closed her eyes. Listening to the calm music, as she travelled through the smooth road.

🦋🦋🦋-------------------

Thabal stood by the car, watching Nungshi take out the bags along with the driver. As they finished, she brought the trolley and other luggages to her.

They glanced at each other for a second before pulling each other into a warm hug. Nungshi sighed and patted over Thabal's back softly.

"Take care. Eina ng gi pot mayam pack tawbani. Aa yawraga yengu loina. Lyrik toh mamon changna paw ko" Nungshi pulled away from the hug and raked her hand over her little sister's hair gently. A soft, emotional and loving look taking over her face.

(I have packed many things for you. See all of them when you reach. Study nicely and sincerely)

"Fhajana leiu ko. Cheksillu" she said, her voice cracking in between. Her eyes watered on their own. Thabal sighed and cupped her face with a small smile.

(Stay safe and be careful)

"Che, ng sumai kappadi eie kamai chattori. Hm? Don't cry. Save this tears for your wedding" she winked playfully making, Nungshi chuckle through her tears.

(How would I go if you cry like this)

"Dhat" she muttered and looked away, embarrassed.

"Now, don't waste your precious tears. I will come again soon. I love you. Take care che"  Thabal leaned closer and kissed over her hairs. Nungshi nodded and looked at her longingly.

"I love you too. Yawraga call tawraku" Thabal nodded and with that, she walked towards the entrance while passing her sister a good bye wave.

(Call as soon as you reach)

Thabal walked near the security, standing in the queue along with the others, her eyes scanned the waiting area, searching for a someone familiar. But the gate area was crowded only with strangers.

She glanced over her watch. The flight will take over soon. Her feet tapped on the floor instantly, on their own.

Suddenly she sensed the shift of the presence behind her. A familiar presense. A familiar scent of cologne. Before she could think more, a gentle cold finger brushed her. Taking the luggage bag from her hand.

A smile appeared on her face on it's own.

"Bari der kardi aane mein" she whispered audibly. Vikram just smirked. Throwing the duffle back over his shoulder, he leaned closer to her ear, letting his breath fanned over the place.

"Miss kar rahe the?" He asked in a whisper. Thabal didn't say anything, she just turned a little and gave him the cutest side eye he have seen in his life. He couldn't help but chuckle at her cute antics.

They passed the security and went towards the boarding queue. Vikram eyed her. Glancing at her every second. As if his eyes were not satisfied of seeing her just once.

"Jyada ghurne se aankhein bahar nikal jayegi" Thabal warned playfully, while looking forward. She tried hard to control the smile that almost slipped off her lips.

"Ghur nahi raha tha. I was just making sure that you are safe" he shrugged casually. Thabal rolled her eyes and smiled slightly.

Suddenly he pulled her closer by her arm. Making her widen her eyes in surprise.

"Kya?" She whispered yelled at him.

"Pakro. Aur safety hogi tumhe" he said, forwarding his left arm to her. Thabal slapped her forehead and laughed.

"Pagal ho aap" she muttered with a soft laugh. But still slowly, inched towards his arm and held it gently. His muscles were hard and firm. She could feel his veins under her finger. A soft blush displayed over her cheeks.

Vikram though didn't showed it but internally, he was screaming. He felt a whole fucking tsunami inside his body. It felt like all damn blood pressure rised up in his body. He was the one who proposed this flirty idea. But he didn't know she would really hold it. Now he was in trouble.

He felt his heart race faster than any horse. Her touch, just a single soft touch of hers was capable of creating a havoc inside him.

The two walked towards the airplane, their hearts thudding hard for each other.

🦋🦋🦋-----------------

The flight had been the most perfect one ever. Her whole flight was spent over Vikram's shoulder. Her head was attached to his shoulder the whole time. The thought itself made her smile. She bite her lips thinking about him.

Such a strange person is he. Its just been few months she have known him. She doesn't even know the half of him, nor does he about her. Still, somehow, his presence was enough for her to feel the safest. She could just blindly trust him without any second thought.

She liked him. Because who won't. Who won't like a man like him? A real man. A gentleman under the cover of a stoic and rude police officer. She chuckled at the thought.

As she took out her clothes, her hands found a blue t shirt. She looked at it intently. It was his shirt. The same tee which she stole without his knowledge. The t shirt which she carried to her house back at Imphal. Because it carried his scent and brought her a sense of peace.

"Pyaar kar bethi hoon kya mein aapse?" She questioned slowly, looking at the t shirt. She brought it to her chest after a moment and hugged it.

"Itna jaldi hojata hai pyaar?" She whispered to herself. Her heartbeat racing at the thought of being in love of him.

She didn't really know if it was love. But she wanted to be his. Only his.

"This stuff is so damn complicated" she sighed at herself. Before putting down the shirt. She was lucky her roommates didn't came back from their home, if they were to witnessed this scene. They would behave as if world war 3 had started.

As she finished upacking her stuff, she grabbed some plastic containers and went towards the small kitchen.

She turned towards the utensils and took out few to prepare a poha. Her stomach was rumbling like anything. As she started to chop few vegetables available. Her mind drifted towards her phone.

She paused for a moment in her place before picking up her phone and dialling the only number she would. She kept it on speaker. Within just few rings, the owner picked it up.

"Hello madam? Kaise yaad aagaya mein aapko?" His teasing voice resonated through her small kitchen. Thabal smiled, her mood instantly lifting up.

"Bas. Socha bechare SP sahab akele honge. Dukhi honge. Toh call kardiya" She teased back, a grin adorning her face. Vikram chuckled through the phone.

"Hmmm. Aacha kiya. Mein miss kar raha tha tumhe" he said so casually, that it made her heart flip. Her cheeks reddened up.

"Kaisi baatein karte ho aap. Ase directly thodi bolna hai" she scolded him gently. Feeling embarassed. Vikram let out a laugh at it.

"Aare. Sach hi toh keh raha hoon. I miss you. I miss you so much-"

"Bas! Hogaya" she cut him off, feeling her cheeks getting warm. He sure did a good job at teasing her.

Vikram smirked at himself. She must be red as a tomato now. He thought internally. And just then, he heard utensils clinking and sound of water boiling through the phone.

"Khana bana rahi ho chand?" He asked, his voice soft yet at the same time deep and hard. Thabal gulped. She felt tingles over her body, just by hearing him.

"Chand? Sunai de raha hai?" He asked again. Making her stuttered in between.

"Umm? Umm. Haan. Haan. Bana rahi hoon. Poha" she answered hastily.

"Distracted kyu ho?" He asked. Again in that darn hot voice of his. Thabal literally clutched her chest in a dramatic way and bent.

"How can I not be distracted when you talk to me like that" she whispered inaudibly to herself.

"Kya? Kya bol rahi ho?" Vikram asked confuse. As he heard her murmuring something uncatchable.

"Kuch nahi kuch nahi. Aap bolo. Aap kya kar rahe ho?" She asked quickly. Changing the subject.

"Hmm. Kuch khash nahi. Bas ek file dekh raha tha" he answered. To which she replied with an 'ohhh'.

"You know what. I am craving so badly for something else now. Mujhe pizza chahiye, chowmein chahiye, biryani chahiye, malai kofta! Uffff! Muh pe pani aagaya sochke hi. Lekin meri kismat dekho. Poha pe aake atak gaya" she completed with a sigh and continued stiring her poha lazily.

Vikram chuckled softly hearing her whine.

"Koi baat nahi. Pray karo. Shayad mil jaye" he suggested playfully. To which she snorted in return.

"Huh! As if! Bhagwan thodi upar se fhekenge mere liye woh sab" she shook her head.

"Who knows. Sab toh bhagwan ke haath pe hai" Vikram answered in return. Thabal shook her head at it with a sigh. What has happened to him.

"Aap kya jo itni behki behki baatein karte hai" she sighed again. Before he could even respond. She talked again. Rambling anything that came on her mind.

About her classmates whom she don't like, about the cute dog she sees at the street, about her warden, about her hostel mates. She went on rambling without stopping. And Vikram? Like always he listened to it. Humming in between, agreeing to each words of her.

He loves it when she talks. A lot! He loves hearing her. He loves to just listen to her talking. They talked for a few more comfortable minutes, mostly Thabal ranting. She tried not to rush the moment, savoring the simple pleasure of his presence on the line.

"Aur meine kaha tha usko udhar mat rakho. Par nahi. Meri kon sunta hai" she fused over God knows what. Vikram chuckled at it.

"Acha suno" he called her gently. To which she immediately replied.

"Haan?"

"Few of my junior officers are coming at my place soon. Aa hi rahe honge. I have some work with them. Take care, hm? Khane ke baad sojana. Take rest today" he instructed, gently yet firmly.

"Haan ji. Sir ji. Samaj gayi" she answered playfully, in a sarcastic manner. A small smile tugged on Vikram's lips.

"Bye" he whispered.

"Bye" Thabal smiled before ending the call.

She hung up and looked at her somehow eatable poha. Her eyes squinted in distaste looking at it.

"Kya jo bana diya hai meine" she murmured to herself and shook her head in utter dissapointment. Looking at it for few moments, she then sighed and looked away.

"Hmmm. Till it cools down, let's go in a quick shower" she whistled badly at herself.
