The morning sun entered the room, casting a soft, golden glow over the bed. Thabal stirred first, finding her head nuzzled against Vikram's bare chest. She smiled slowly and caressed his naked skin with her finger.
"You are harassing a sleeping man Miss. Chanu" Vikram grumbled, his voice thick with sleep as his grip on her waist tightened. Thabal giggled and kissed his cheek.
"You know" she started, tracing the skin of his cheek.
"Hmm?" He hummed in his deep morning voice.
"You look so good even in such a sleepy state" she smiled. Vikram slowly opened his eyes and looked at her. He didn't say anything, just continued looking at her.
He slowly raised his hand and brushed her hair softly, caressing it with utmost gentleness. She stared back at him, holding the eye contact. Her eyes fall upon his beard and hairs. She touched her jaw, caressing his beard.
"Lamba hogaya hai" she murmured, earning a hum in reply.
"Katoge nahi?" She asked playing with his beard. Vikram sighed before answering.
"Soch hi Raha tha kat doon. Bolo kaise katu?" He asked her with a smile. Thabal smiled back. She hummed as if thinking.
"Hmmmm. Kyu na mein kat ke doon?" She grinned, Vikram chuckled at it. He playfully pulled her nose.
"Tum? Can you even cut it?" He raised his brow teasingly. Thabal frowned at him and slapped his chest.
"Mujhe challenge mat karo samjhe. I am the SP's girlfriend. Under karwa dungi aapko aapne bande ko bolke" she pointed her finger at him and fake glared at him. Vikram couldn't help but smile proudly at her words.
"I will beat your boyfriend to pulp" he challenged with a wink. Thabal squinted her eyes.
"Khabardar. If you touch my boyfriend. Waise bhi, he is much stronger than you. He can beat anyone and defeat them. You must not have seen him. Dekhte toh ase nahi kehte. You would run away for your life as soon as you see him" she scoffed arrogantly making him chuckle. He tucked her hair behind her ear.
"I will not run away for my life. I will run away with my life" he whispered staring into her eyes. She looked away feeling shy and flustered.
"Chup karo. Uth jawo ab" she tried to act unbothered and sat up. Vikram sat up too, a smile lingering on his lips.
Eventually, the two migrated to the bathroom. Vikram sat on a stool in front of the mirror while Thabal stood between his legs, a comb and a pair of professional scissors in her hand.
She worked meticulously, eyes squinting and looking in concentration as she trimmed the hair around his ears. Vikram kept his hands on her waist, his eyes fixed on her face rather than his reflection.
"Hilo mat" she scolded softly when he leaned in close.
"I can't help it. You look so beautiful" he teased, smirking at her. Thabal ignored him, and blew a breath on his ears, removing the small hairs.
She picked up a trimmer and shaped his beard. Using scissors to remove the messy ones. She kept it as perfect as she wanted. Like how it suited him. Small stubble decorating his jaw.
She tilted his chin up and smiled, seeing the satisfying result.
"Just a few touch ups" she muttered to herself and continued fixing his hair. Cutting where she felt it was uneven. When she finally finished, she wiped the stray hairs from his shoulders with a towel and leaned down to peck his lips.
"Ho gaya. Ekdam hero lag rahe ho" she cheered with a grin. Vikram smiled and stood up from the stool. He cornered her against the bathroom wall gently and placed his left hand on her waist, and the right one on her jaw.
He leaned down and captured her lips into a kiss. Thabal placed her hands on his bare shoulders for support. Vikram moved his lips with hers, he urgently squeezed her waist, earning a gasp. And the perfect moment! He entered his tongue in her warm mouth.
He hummed and grumbled against her mouth. The bathroom walls now filled with their soft moaning sounds and the sounds of their lips dancing together. He was about to continue more when Thabal pushed him slightly and pulled away from him, panting heavily.
Vikram was panting slightly along with her. Yet he was eager to kiss her again. He moved his other hand to cup her face and was about to lean in for a kiss when Thabal covered his lips. He frowned and removed it.
He was about to kiss her when she again covered his mouth, this time with a glare and a shake of head.
"Kya?" He grumbled as if annoyed.
"Der hojayegi. Aap fresh hojawo. Mujhe exercise bhi karna hai. Fhir uske baad fresh bhi hona hai. Fhir breakfast bhi. God! I don't even have much time. Chalo jaldi. Agar late huwi na woh dono bandarniya mera dimag khayenge" she sighed and was about to move away from him. But Vikram held her to her place. He pulled her closer to him and tried to kiss her but Thabal didn't let him.
"Ummhh. Please na" he pleaded, with a huff. Thabal felt her lips twitching, but controlled it. He was looking so cute right now that it was too hard to deny him. He looked like a child nagging for his favourite chocolate.
"Nahi. Yeh sab baad pe. Chalo abhi aap nahalo" she tried to push him away, but he didn't bulge away an inch. Instead he lowered his head down and placed open kisses on her jaw, neck, near her neck.
"Please na. Bas ek baar. Please" he begged softly, sucking on her neck. Thabal momentarily closed her eyes with mouth slightly opened, enjoying the feeling of bliss. But then she quickly pushed him.
"Nahi. You won't give me hickey here. Mein itni tease hoti hoon aapko pata bhi hai? Godd! Those two just ate up my head" she huffed at him and turned to go but again. Caught by him.
"Chand" he tilted his eyes and just stared at her. Showing his best puppy eyes. Thabal looked away and sighed. And that was the sign.
He leaned in for a kiss. And the 'just once' kiss. Didn't really last once.
🦋🦋🦋---------------
Thabal opened the door with the spare key she had and entered. She breathed in the warmth of the house. A smile played on her lips, despite being tired. It was 5:30 pm. And she just returned home after her uni and tuition.
"Aunty! Mein aagayii" she announced as she kept her slippers beside the door where the shoe rack was kept and wore her home slippers instead.
"Aajao beta. Kitchen pe hoon" Kavita yelled from the kitchen. Thabal walked towards it and entered. Her shoulders slumped down tiredly.
Kavita felt pity watching her tired self.
"Thak gayi?" She asked softly. Thabal huffed and hummed.
"Mat pucho aunty. Mat pucho. Itna thak gayi mein. Room tak chala bhi nahi ja raha" she sighed. Kavita smiled and forwarded a glass in front of her.
"Mujhe pata tha tum thak jawogi. Toh dekho meine kya banaya hai" she smiled teasingly. Thabal looked at it and widened her eyes in surprise.
"Oh. My. God!!!" She screeched happily and jumped slightly in excitement. Her tiredness forgotten.
"Oh auntyyy. Aap best ho. Like seriously. Banana milkshake!!?" She awed from the sweet gesture and quickly took a sip. And as soon as the cold, thick liquid entered her throat and travelled inside her stomach. She sighed in bliss.
"The best aunty. The best!! Aapke haath pe jadu hai jadu" she bowed her head dramatically in front of her, earning a laugh from Kavita.
"Bas bas" she laughed softly and continued her work.
"Itna thak harke wapas ghar aana woh bhi iss garmi mein. Aur ghar aate hi banana milkshake awaits me? Isse aacha din aur kya hi hoga" saying so she continued sipping on the milkshake.
"Aacha hai tumhe pasand aaya. Mein toh kabse soch pe dubi thi tumhe pasand aayega ki nahi. Kabhi pehle banaya nahi na. Aaj pehli baar bana rahi hoon. Tumhe pasand tha toh-" Kavita was narrating when Thabal suddenly interrupted her.
"Wait wait. Aunty. Aapko kisne bola ki mujhe banana milkshake pasand hai?" She asked in confusion.
"Aur kon. Tumhara bawra aashiq" Kavita shrugged and said so casually as if it was obvious.
"Yeh banane ko bhi wahi bola. Bol raha tha 'mausi, ek glass banana milkshake banake rakhna. Thabal aayegi toh usko dena, usko pasand hai. Thak gayi hogi kafi' " she mimicked his dialogue and chuckled. Thabal lowered her eyes and sipped on the milkshake. A smile playing on her lips.
"Waise meine pehle se tere liye orange juice banake rakha tha. Socha mein aur tu piyenge saath pe. Fridge pe rakha hai, yeh baat pe pite hai" Kavita informed. Thabal didn't say anything. She didn't have any words to say.
There weren't many people in this house. Just Kavita and her Vikram. Yet, just these two cared for her and loved her like no one else. Her heart felt full. She took the last sip of the milkshake and kept the glass in the sink.
"Aunty mein thoda rest karti hoon" she informed and adjusted her bag strap. Kavita nodded, still chopping the garlic.
"Haan haan ja. Aaram karle" she ushered. Thabal walked out of the kitchen and started climbing the staircase with utmost laziness. She really felt like beating Vikram right now.
Itna upar kon room rakhne ko bola tha?
She huffed and continued climbing, muttering curses under her breath. As soon as she reached the door, she opened it and the cold ac air hit her body, she threw herself on the bed.
Thabal sighed in relief. She dropped her slippers and placed her feet on the bed. She unbottoned her jeans quickly and threw it on the couch.
"Uff jaan chhuti" she muttered in relief. After a few moments, she sat up and walked towards the cupboard, searching around she took out a halfpant and a light cotton top. She quickly wore the pants and took off the top she was wearing. Unclasping her bra, she disregarded it and wore the cotton top.
Hasshhh! Now she could breathe freely.
She quickly ran and dropped herself on her bed. She laid with her legs sprawled and smiled.
"I miss you" she muttered to the bed and hugged a pillow tightly to herself. The cold ac air touching her skin , calmed her down.
She closed her eyes and let herself fall into a deep sleep. Her body was exhausted from the busy day.
🦋🦋🦋--------------
"What the fuck did I say? Don't fucking eat my head"
"Go to hell. Apna files uthaao aur niklo"
"Ummhh" Thabal groaned softly and opened her eyes. She slowly sat up, still hearing the yells and noises. She frowned while a yawn escaped her mouth.
She looked at the wall clock to see that it was 7:00 PM.
"Konse gadhe log the jo tum dono ko kam pe rakha? Ek aur galti huwa toh dobara kam pe jane layak nahi rahoge" Thabal winched at the harshness of the voice. It was Vikram's voice, sharp and booming, echoing from the hall below.
Thabal looked at herself to find her body covered by a thin blanket. Maybe he came, she thought. She removed her blanket and hurried to the balcony.
Looking down, she saw a side of Vikram she never saw at home. He was standing with his back to her, his posture rigid and intimidating. In front of him stood two officers. One was Atharv Shinde, who looked like he wanted to vanish into the ground, and the other was an officer she didn't recognize, who was trembling under Vikram's gaze.
"Sir, we tried our best. Pata nahi tha woh a-aesa dhoka de dega" the unknown officer stammered.
"The hell with your best. Kya best. Tum log intejar kar rahe the ki kab woh chutiya aake sare files leke chala jaye?" He burst out, his voice so chilling and dangerous. Thabal felt herself shivering at the intensity. She gulped feeling goosebumps over her skin.
"Maan kar raha hai ek lagawu kanke niche" he harshly spitted, making the two flinch. Taking a step back subconsciously, as if already bracing themselves for any upcoming slaps or punches.
Thabal looked at them in pity. God save them from Vikram's wrath today. They must have messed up something really big to make him this angry.
She sighed softly. But then, as if hearing it, Vikram's head tilted up. He spotted Thabal standing at the balcony, her hair messy from sleep, her puffy and cheeks red.
The change was instant. The fire in his eyes didn't vanish, but it cooled. His jaw, which had been set in a hard line, relaxed. He breathed softly this time. He looked at her for a long beat, his entire demeanor softening as if her mere presence was an antidote to his rage.
The officers raised their bowed heads hesitantly sensing the shift in the environment. They saw Vikram's angry face surprisingly calm. Anger no longer visible in his features. He didn't seem like the same who was giving them threats just a few seconds ago.
They followed his gaze and finally landed on Thabal who slowly and hesitantly smiled at the raging bull. The other officer watched her with his mouth agap.
So this was the girl who had captured the Vikram Sharma's heart. Well no doubt she did. She was a beauty. A different kind of beauty indeed. Shinde quickly nudged him, signalling him to look down.
If Vikram was to catch them watching his 'beloved girlfriend' God knows what will happen to them. They would be a gone case.
Vikram finally turned back to them. His gaze immediately narrowed. He massaged his forehead with his fingers and muttered to them calmly.
"Niklo yaha se. And i want the file made again. I want everything to remain the same. Ek word idhar udhar huwa toh tum dono ki gardan bhi tumhare body se idhar udhar hogi" he calmly said, no more shouting now.
Shinde and the other officer didn't need to be told twice. They saluted quickly and scrambled out of the house for their lives. Vikram stood there for a moment, taking a deep breath to settle his pulse. He climbed the stairs, his heavy boots echoing in the hallway.
As he reached the balcony, she wasn't there anymore. He entered the room to find her sitting on the bed. Thabal stared at him, blinked once and then opened her arms.
Vikram didn't say a word, he walked straight to her and buried his face in the crook of her neck, his arms wrapping around her like a lifeline. He didn't speak, he just exhaled a long, ragged breath, letting the scent of her skin wash away the bitterness of the day.
He let his heavy body hover over her small one. And Thabal not able to handle his weight fall on her back on the bed. Vikram on top of her. She felt her breath almost stop as he crushed her.
God, abhi saasein rukh jati and mein aapko pyaari hojati
She gulped. Although she felt hard to breathe, she didn't complain. Thoda bear kar lenge for pasandida mard.
"Abhi bhi gussa ho kya?" she whispered, her hands coming up to rub his back.
"They messed up a major lead, chand" he muttered into her shoulder, his grip tightening.
"Pura din kharab ho gaya" he grumbled, annoyed. Thabal chuckled at it. He sound like an annoyed child, complaining to his mother.
"Koi baat nahi. Abhi sab thik hai" she rubbed his back in a comforting manner. She kissed the top of his head earning a hum of satisfaction.
Vikram hadn't let go of her for a long time, his weight leaning into her as if he were trying to absorb her calmness. And Thabal? Well, she was barely breathing. She was crushed by his weight. She feared if she would be able to see the next morning.
"Vikram" she called out gently earning his soft hum.
"Uth jawo. Get fresh and let's go eat something" she whispered and caressed his head lovingly.
"Nahi" he muttered, making her frown.
"Kya matlab nahi. Utho aap. Thak gaye hoge. Let's eat something" she said, but the 'mar rahi hoon mein niche, jaldi utho' was silent.
"Idhar hi khana hai. Niche nahi jana mujhe" he grumbled and nuzzled more in the crook of her neck. Thabal sighed at his antics.
"Aacha chalo i will bring dinner for both of us. Chalo abhi utho aap" Vikram unwilling sat up. Thabal smiled and sat too. She leaned at him and pecked at his lips several times.
"Chalo now gain your energy and get ready" she grinned and walked out of the room. Walking inside the kitchen. She looked over to see 3 hot case tiffins laying on the counter.
Opening the lid, she was immediately greeted with the smell of mutton curry. She smiled at it and opened the next one to see rice in it. The last one contained fried mutton pieces. God bless Kavita aunty. She thought internally.
Thabal started serving the dishes on her plate and Vikram's. Before carrying it she put one spoon each for the two plates and then carefully carried it, walking towards the bedroom. As she reached the door, she nudged it with her elbow and entered.
Vikram was sitting on the bed, leaning back against the headboard, dressed only in his sweatpants. His hair was damp, and he looked drained of every ounce of energy.
She set both the plates on the nearby stool and brought it near the bed.
"Chalo dhang se betho aur khalo" she nudged him as she sat up on the bed, near him. He looked at the food and then at his hands, making no move to pick up a spoon.
"Feed me" he demanded, but in such a tone that it came out as a request. Thabal smiled and then pulled the plate into her lap. She mixed the gravy with the rice properly and scopped it up, along with a piece of mutton.
"Aa" she gestured. Vikram blinked, his gaze never leaving her. A flicker of something deep and emotional passed through his eyes. He opened his mouth slowly, accepting the morsel.
She fed him patiently. There was no conversation, just the quiet intimacy of the act.
Vikram felt something inside him. He breathed slowly. This gesture was something so new to him. She was the only one who had ever fed him. Vikram didn't get the luxury to be fed so lovingly. To be owned by someone. But now. Everything has changed. Her arrival changed everything.
He watched her intently, the way she blew on the curry to cool it, the way she made sure he had enough of the curry.
"Tumne khaya?" he asked after a few minutes, his voice much softer now.
"Khawungi" she replied, already preparing for the next bite. Vikram reached out, his hand wrapping around her wrist, stopping her mid air. He took the spoon from her and kept it near her lips, gesturing her to open up.
Thabal leaned forward and took it. A small smile playing her lips. They continued feeding each other for the next 20 minutes.
As they finished Thabal kept the empty plates on the stool and turned to him. She gently wiped the corner of his mouth with the pad of her thumb.
"Pani pilo" she said, handing him the glass of water kept on the nightstand. Vikram dranked half of it, giving the half filled glass of water to her now.
Thabal took the glass from him, her fingers brushing against his, and finished the remaining water. She set the glass down and turned to find Vikram watching her with an intensity that made her heart skip.
"Din kaisa tha?" he murmured, his voice dropping as he reached out to pull her back into his space.
"Aap ka shakal dekh liya na subah-subah. Toh bohot aacha gaya" she teased softly, falling back on the bed. Vikram smiled, just slightly.
His hand found hers, intertwining their fingers, his thumb tracing the back of her knuckles.
"Sometimes" Vikram began, his voice vibrating through his chest.
"I feel like if I close my eyes, I will wake up and all of this, you, this peace, will be a dream"
Thabal tightened her grip on his hand. She smiled at him, a painful one.
"Vikram" she whispered softly.
"Hmm" he hummed back deeply.
"Submit yourself to me. Let me take care of you" she said and then opened her arms slightly. Vikram immediately inched near her and hugged her tight, this time burying his face in her chest.
Thabal wrapped her arms around him, her chin resting atop his damp hair. The scent of his soap entered her nostrils, giving her a smell of his addictive scent.
Vikram snuggled against her. Feeling safe and secured in her tiny arms. He felt his favourite scent. He justed wanted to sniff and live here forever.
He leaned up and hid his face in the crook of her neck. The one who was holding him was her. But it seemed like Vikram was holding her as his whole frame engulfed her small body.
"Everything is real. I am with you. And i will never leave" she whispered in assurance. Vikram hummed in satisfaction and released a sigh of relief. He felt he was back home, in her embrace.
